Symptoms of hemmroids

Many ano-rectal problems mimic the similar signs and symptoms as hemmroids and misinterpreted as hemmroids. Usually, hemorrhoids are not serious or life threatening by themselves and has lesser side effects.

The most familiar symptom of hemmroids is bright red blood on stools or on toilet paper. However, hardly ever do the patients bleed to an extent that may cause severe anemia or any dangerous disorder.

The following are the most common symptoms of hemmroids:

Itching around the anal area:
Anal itching usually has more than one possible cause. The list of possible causes apart from hemorrhoids are: dry skin, sweating esp excessive sweating around the anus, excessive abrasion due to frequent washing or rubbing toilet paper, frequent diarrhea, chemical allergies from soaps, colognes etc, food allergies, some medications can cause this as a side effect, skin disorders like eczema and psoriasis, yeast infections (in women usually), rectal tumours, stress and many more.

Pain around the anal area:
Hemmroids or anal fissure. Either one is a very painful condition. An anal fissure is, simply stated, a small tear or cut in the lining of the anus. Anal fissures are generally caused by straining while on the toilet or by constipation. Sometime fissures are related to severe bouts of diarrhea. Fissures can be quite painful, especially during a bowel movement when the fissure is stretched. There will be red blood streaking the stool if you have a fissure.
